Ms. McAllister will seek to enhance relationships between Australian climate change policymakers and their international counterparts, including establishing programs to evaluate and disseminate New South Wales’ best practices and bringing expert speakers to visit Australia. She also hopes to establish multi-stakeholder groups to support commercialization of renewable technologies, and to better integrate policy and research on biosequestration.

He also plans to explore the possibility of organizing visits of Indian distribution utility leaders to utilities in the USA that are leaders in the development of smart grids.

Mr. Tumiwa will assess the feasibility of establishing an Association of Study of Peak Oil (ASPO) Indonesia with the assistance of ASPO USA. He will also share information about Makani Wind technologies with Indonesia’s state-owned utility PLN, and develop a proposal for a partnership between Makani and PLN to use Makani wind technologies for electricity generation in remote areas as an alternative to diesel generators. He will establish further cooperation with Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) to develop an alternative electricity planning model to support distributed generation. Lastly, Mr. Tumiwa plans to write a book on renewable energy policies technologies based on lessons learned in the USA.

In Maine, Dr. Salami initiated a process to develop an exchange program between Nigeria’s Obafemi Awolowo University and some land-grant universities in the USA with the assistance of Marge Kilkelly (USA 2000), Deputy Director, Eastern Regional Conference/Council of State Governments and Director, Northeast States Association for Agricultural Stewardship. Dr. Salami will also co-write a book with Dr. Osita Afoaku, professor, Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs. The book will focus on the challenges of sustainable development in Africa and will be published by the Edwin Mellen Press, New York.

Additionally, he will explore the potential of arranging for Russian lawyers to meet their American counterparts to learn about American space law development, and establish a joint project with the USGS Center for Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS).

Mr. Moehn will continue active participation in the Washington University Clean Coal Consortium (5-year, $2 million commitment). Ameren was a charter member, and his department has recently been appointed the Ameren representative for this initiative. He will also join the St. Louis Green Business Challenge as a charter member. The objectives are to lead the St. Louis region toward a “Green Belt” economy that fosters green savings, green opportunities and green talent.

Mr. Nutting will advise agricultural businesses and associations in Maine and New England about business and partnership opportunities with agricultural and development interests in India. He will also develop relationships he has created with rural development NGO’s in India to create a charitable giving program with USA-based agricultural interests, including dairy and organic production. Additionally, Mr. Nutting will work with agricultural groups in Maine and the northeast in order to integrate climate change-related programs and advocacy in fighting for sustainable agriculture in the Northeast.
